Cabin Rentals in North Carolina Forests
There are two national forest cabins available for rent in the area near the Pisgah Forest.
Balsam Lake Lodge in the Highlands Ranger District of the Nantahala National Forest is a great getaway for groups. Reserve this facility for $170 to $200 per night. The lodge includes 16 twin beds with all linens, a kitchen with utensils and three bathrooms. All facilities are fully accessible to people with disabilities. The Swan Cabin in the Cheoah Ranger District of the Nantahala National Forest makes for a primitive cabin experience. You can rent the Swan Cabin for $25 per night. This 1931 three-room log cabin has one and a half stories with a loft on the upper floor. Furniture includes a wood stove for heat and nine rope-strung bed frames suitable for sleeping bags. The lodges are available by reservation only through the National Reservation Service at 877- 444-6777 on-line, at the service’s website: www.recreation.gov. A service fee is charged.
Pisgah Forest and Surrounding area accomodations.
Depending on the area you are visiting you may find it convenient to stay in Brevard, Asheville, Waynesville, or some other destination in western North Carolina.
If you are in town for fly fishing, there are places to stay near the Davidson River in Brevard or the town of Pisgah Forest. These locationas are also excellent for you if you are going to be mountain biking because they are close to Pisgah Forest as well as the popular Dupont State Forest.
Brevard and Pisgah Forest are also close to Sliding Rock, and many waterfalls. Tubing on the Davidson River is another popular activity in this area.
